Ice skating is a staple winter date, and it only costs around $7 per person! Nothing is more of a bonding experience than trying to figure out ice skating with your significant other.
Tubing is so fun! If you don’t know what it is, you basically just sit on a tube and sled down a hill. There are a bunch of places that have artificial snow and make a ramp just for tubing! It’s a perfect winter date idea, and it’s not too pricy! If you live in a place where you get a lot of snow and you like tubing, it would honestly be worth it to just buy your own tube that you can reuse over and over. You’ll need to get a good quality one though, because if you get a cheap one it will just get holes in it if you hit anything in the snow. They can be pretty pricy, but this one here is pretty heavy duty and it is on sale for $15 (which is around the same price to rent a tube for only a few hours!)
Making DIY Christmas presents
If you’re like me, you want to give everyone meaningful gifts but don’t want to spend big bucks. Diy Christmas presents are perfect, meaningful gifts that aren’t too expensive to make! Getting crafty with bae can be such a fun date! I plan to do a diy Christmas gift post soon, so be on the lookout for that. 🙂
Look at Christmas lights
The most cliche Christmas idea. Looking at the lights can be so romantic, and it doesn’t cost too much. Just picture it, sitting in the car with bae, drinking some peppermint hot cocoa with the Christmas music playing on the radio. All around you are glistening, festive decorations. Giant Christmas trees, reindeer, and the like. *swoon* I’m so excited to go see Christmas lights!
Holiday parties can be a perfect holiday date! And they’re FREE. What is better than hanging out with friends and getting lit about the holidays? Nothing, if you ask me.
Christmas caroling can be such a great bonding experience! And it is also free! Nothing will get you more in the holiday spirit than going around and singing Christmas carols to random people. Who cares if you have a bad voice? Do it anyway.
Visit nursing homes
I know this doesn’t sound like the most romantic date, but there is no better feeling than making other people feel good. Doing a great thing and making other people happy with your significant other can be such a great experience. It doesn’t cost a thing to make someone’s day. 🙂
I love to to sledding. I live in a place where it rarely snows, so when it does, it’s extra special. A sledding date it so fun. Expect lots of laughs, and lots of falls.
Make a Gingerbread House
When I was little, my dad had a friend who worked at Starbucks, and I remember one time he took my sister and I there to build gingerbread houses. It’s one of my favorite holiday memories, the wonderful smell of Starbucks coffee in the background while we made our gingerbread houses. Building them with your boyfriend/ girlfriend would be so much fun, too! All you have to do is buy a kit (which are inexpensive), and you’re good to go.
Holiday movies and hot cocoa
The ideal winter date for me is snuggling up with some comfy blankets and some hot chocolate and watching holiday movies with my boyfriend. Sitting and watching movies with the Christmas tree in the corner sounds like the best thing ever.
One of my favorite things to do is go to Christmas concerts. This is my first year not being in the band to play in the Christmas concert at my high school, but I know that our whole community loved it and it got everyone in the holiday spirit. I absolutely LOVE to listen to bands play Greensleeves and all of the other Christmas songs. If you go to your local high schools Christmas concert, it definitely will not be expensive.
Go to a holiday ballet
I would absolutely love to go see the nutcracker ballet with my boyfriend. Going to see a local holiday dance recital would not be very expensive. I love to go see ballets at the Oklahoma Civic theatre, but they are generally pretty pricy. I personally always check discount apps like Groupon before I go to events like that, and sometimes I find really awesome deals! So, if you would like to do something that it typically kind of pricy, make sure you check online to see if you can get some good deals!
Go see a play
Similar to ballets and Christmas concerts, you can go to your local Christmas plays for pretty cheap if they’re done by a high school/ local theatre. However, if you want to go see a professional play, make sure you look for coupons online!
