Fall & Winter Reading List 2017
It is now officially the time of year when all I want to do is curl up in a warm blanket and immerse myself in books. Over the past few months I have been compiling a list of books that I want to read. I’ve been seeing so many book recommendation posts and they have given me so many good book ideas. I really love to read book posts, so, I thought I would do a post of my own!
College has really been overwhelming me for the past few weeks, and I’ve been feeling the need to escape. Reading is sort of like going on a little vacation. You get to go on journey’s and meet new people while reading, even if it’s just from the comfort of your cozy bed. Needless to say, I am pretty excited to start some new books. I have pretty high hopes for all of these books, so I hope that they are as good as everyone is saying they are!
With the end of the semester so close, I am sure that I am not the only one who is wanting to escape. Hopefully these books help us all to escape the stresses of everyday life! Without further ado, here is my Fall and Winter reading list.

Six of Crows
In Six of Crows, a man named Kaz Brekker is offered a substantial sum of money to kidnap someone. However, the place that he has to heist is the Ice Court–aka the most highly guarded place in Fjerda. He knows that he can’t pull it off on his own, so he recruits some people to help him. Even with help, it still isn’t an easy task, so he and the others have to learn to work together.
I have seen so many people recommend this book, so I am really excited to read it.
The Night Circus
The Night Circus is about a circus that magically appears without warning, and is only open at night. However, behind the scenes there is a fierce competition going on between two magicians named Celia and Marco, who have been trained since they were young just for that purpose. Neither one knows that only one can make it out alive though, and they soon fall in love, putting the lives of everyone around them in danger.
I am obsessed with any books about circuses, and I am SO pumped to read this one. It sounds absolutely entrancing.
Wintersong
For most of her life, 19 year old Liesl has heard tales of a Goblin King. She fancied him and composed many songs with him as the subject. Sadly, because of the stresses of adulthood, she has to give up her childhood fantasies of the Goblin King.
However, when her sister is stolen by the goblins, Liesl has to go to the kingdom to rescue her sister. In a turn of events, Liesl has to offer herself in exchange for her sister’s life.
Ever since watching the Labyrinth, I have had a strange fixation with Goblin Kings and the like, so this book sound so interesting to me. I am so excited to enter this world to find out exactly what the Goblin King is like.
Red Queen
In Red Queen, a seventeen year old girl named Mare finds herself in a world divided. With the Silvers ruling with a powerful queen, and the Reds being the commoners. Mare is on the Red side of the spectrum, until suddenly she finds herself working in the Silver palace. She soon discovers that she has some power of her own, and the Silvers try to hide her potential by declaring her a long-lost Silver princess. However, Mare does not forget her roots, and she finds herself in a battle between the Red and Silvers.
A friend of mine from high school has read this series, and she told me that it was really good. I not only have an obsession with circuses and Goblin Kings, but I also have an obsession with anything Alice and Wonderland related, so I can’t wait to dive into this one.
Selection
The Selection is about the chance for 35 girls to be selected to compete for a Prince’s heart. If selected, the girls get to live a perfect life filled with jewels and crowns. However, America Singer isn’t sure that she wants to be selected. It would cause her to have to leave Aspen, her secret love.
Being selected means that America would have to leave everything she’d ever known to compete for a crown that she isn’t sure she even wants. However, when she meets Prince Maxon, everything changes.
I’ve been thinking about reading this book for a while, and it is really intriguing. I am so interested to learn all about America, Prince Maxon, and the selection.
Cinder
In Cinder, both humans and cyborgs walk the streets together. However, there is a plague on Earth, and a population of lunar people wait to make their move to take it.
No one knows that a cyborg named Cinder is the only one who can save Earth. When Cinder becomes involved with Prince Kai, she gets right in the middle of and intergalactic battle, and she must uncover secrets of her past in order to save the planet.
This is another book that has been very highly recommended by a number of people. It seems really awesome, and I’m excited to read it!
Well, that does it for my reading list! Hopefully all of these books are amazing and succeed at pulling me away from the stresses of college life. If you decide to read any of these or have read them already, let me know in the comments below!
