First month back to college: the tea

Hi guys. Here I *finally* am with a new blog post. I’m the worst, I know. But hey, if you wanna know what I’ve been up to for the past month and why I haven’t been posting anything, here I am to tell you. 🙂

Okay, hi. How’ve you been? Good? Great? Awesome.

Oh, how have I been? I’m glad you asked, because I’m going to tell you.

(This is going to be a post where I go on and on about my life, so if you’re not interested, now would be a good time to exit. <3)

To those of you still standing, wow hi I love you thank so much for caring enough to wonder about my life. Let’s get into it!

What I’ve been up to

For the past month my life has basically revolved around University Sing. Here is the blurb about U sing from the website:

University Sing is one of OU’s favorite theatrical traditions. A musical revue composed of seven Broadway-style acts directed and performed entirely by OU students, University Sing is one of the ultimate showcases of our students’ creativity.”

To get to perform in the showcase, the casts all have to audition and only 7 get put through. So, for the past month, I, along with the rest of the cast and the directors, have been working my butt off 3 days a week to get our performance ready for Auditions.

Auditions were Sunday, September 30th, and sadly, our cast didn’t make it through. 🙁

Despite the fact that we didn’t make it past auditions, joining U sing is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It helped me to meet so many of my best friends who are beautiful, amazing people.

Here are some pictures of all of us. See if you can spot me in every picture! 😉

What else?

Well…

My life has been pretty boring aside from U sing. I’ve been doing the usual….

  • class
  • homework (way too much imo)
  • binge watching Netflix (Meteor Garden and AHS Cult specifically)
  • reading (Heir of Fire)
  • snuggling my dog

Yeah, that’s pretty much it. Now that U sing is over I have literally no idea what to do with my life. Hopefully someone will hire me. Soon. It’s been a week and my dog is tired of me being home already. Apparently he can only take so many snuggles.

But like, why haven’t you been blogging? Spill the tea.

Well, in short, I haven’t felt like it.

I’ve been so busy recently, but I haven’t necessarily been *too* busy to blog, per se.

I just spend so much of my time on my computer doing things for school that when I actually have some free time, the last thing I want to do is be on my computer. I like to use my free time to rest my brain. To be present in the moment and not absorbed in technology 24/7. I feel like this is a struggle that a lot of college bloggers run into.

I love to write, but I’ve been spending my time doing other things.

I’ve also been in a bit of a creative rut recently, because like I said, when I do have free time I’ve been spending it doing mind numbing things, not writing blog posts or other creative things. Which actually kind of sucks.

However, as you can see from this blog post, I’m starting to work harder to find a balance between responsibilities and creative ventures. I feel like there is a part of me inside that is restless. Like the creative part of me is just begging to come out. So, hopefully that means that I will be posting more on here in the near future. *hopefully*

Some other little updates

  • My birthday was Sunday. 20 years old! Wild.
  • I just got hired to design and manage a website. I’m ecstatic! I absolutely love designing websites. I’ve helped some of my friends design their websites, but I’ve never done it as a “job.” I can’t even explain how excited and lucky I feel.
  • I had an procedure done on my neck where I had to get 2 cortisone injections because of an injury from a car accident. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected! I was sedated though, so…

Okay friends, those are all of the life updates that I have for now! If you’re in school, I hope that your semester is going great so far, and if you’re not in school, then congrats! Must be nice.

Alright I’m going to stop writing now. See you next time!
