january birthday party ideas

It can be SO hard to find good January birthday party ideas. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it’s a winter birthday, the fact that it’s right after Christmas, or a combination of the two, but I really feel for people who have January birthdays! Finding ideas is hard!

Despite the lack of ideas out there, there are so many cute things you can do for a January birthday. So, if you have a birthday in January or are planning a party for someone else, I have you covered! For this post, I came up with some ideas for January birthdays that would be SO cute!

This post is all about the cutest January birthday party ideas.

1. Hot Chocolate Bar

Hot chocolate bars are one of my favorite winter party ideas in general, and doing one would be so cute for a winter birthday party! I would be so excited if I showed up to a birthday party and they had one of these. It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser, and it wouldn’t be too hard to put together!

2. January Baby Cake

I’m so obsessed with coquette-ish heart cakes like this! It’s such a cute idea to write “january baby” on January birthday cake. The ribbons on the cake are so cute as well.

3. Coquette Party Theme

I am a sucker for coquette/ girly decor. If the trend ever ends, you will have to pry this aesthetic out of my cold dead hands! I think decor like this is cute for a birthday party at any time of year, especially if you love all things pink like me.

4. Cozy Movie Night

Doing a backyard movie party is a really popular birthday party idea, but you would think it is NOT ideal for winter birthdays. Wrong! If it isn’t TOO cold, it would be so fun to get really cozy with blankets and warm clothes. Also, depending on how much you’re willing to spend on the party, you can get an outdoor heater for around $100!

5. Powerpoint Night

Powerpoint parties are SO much fun. I have a friend who did this for her birthday one year, and it was a huge hit. It’s also a perfect ice breaker if you’re gonna have people at your party who don’t know each other!

6. Winter Party Theme

Doing some kind of winter party theme would be perfect for a birthday in January! You could do all kinds of silver and blue decor and be the winter birthday ice princess.

7. “Chilly” Bar

If you’re wanting to serve some kind of food at your party, a “chilly” bar would be perfect. Chili is super easy to make, super affordable, and it would be a huge hit. You could use a crock pot to keep it warm!

8. Silver And Blue Decor

This is very similar to what I said about doing a winter party theme, but decorating with silver and blue decor would be so cute for a January birthday! I love the silver star backdrop.

9. Pancakes And Pajamas Theme

I saw this party theme recently, and I love it! It would be such a cozy January birthday party theme. You have breakfast food (and pancakes, of course) and everyone wears pajamas!

10. Birthday Pizza

Sale

This is another good birthday party food idea! You obviously can’t go wrong with pizza. I love how they added birthday candles to the pizzas.

11. Smore’s Board

Sale

Oh my goodness, if I arrived to a party and they had this, I might pass out. I love s’mores so much. This would be the perfect dessert for a January birthday party!

12. Winter Wonderland Theme

A winter wonderland theme would be so cute for a January birthday party. I love how they used edible blue luster dust in the drinks!

13. Pearly White Balloons

Pearly white balloons like this would be PERFECT for a winter birthday party. You could add bows like they did if you feel like it.

14. Blue Decor

You could also just go with a blue color scheme for a January birthday party. January makes me think of the color blue. Also, a backdrop like this would be perfect for taking pictures!

15. DIY Fake Snow

Okay, I think this would be super time consuming to pull off, but it would be so cute! To make the fake snow, you’d thread fishing like through cotton balls. So, I think you’d thread some fishing line through a needle and then just put cotton balls on it.

It would create SUCH a cute effect, but it might take a long time. If you’re someone who likes to DIY stuff, it would probably be fun!

16. Winter Bonfire

This is another great outdoor party idea for a January birthday party. It would be so cozy to do a bonfire in the winter!

17. Cozy Backyard Garden Party

Who says you can’t do a garden party in January?! Obviously, there probably wouldn’t be the “garden” party of a garden party in the winter…but, I digress. Like I said earlier, if it’s too cold out, you could get some outdoor heaters!
