An awesome beach trip to South Padre Island in Texas

In May my friends and I took a trip to South Padre Island in Texas. We stayed at my friend’s beach house and it was a lot of fun. It rained a lot when we were there, which isn’t ideal for a beach trip, but we still had a really good time! So, I wanted to share some photos and some stories from the trip. 🙂

This trip was the first time Dobby went to the beach, and he was not a fan of the ocean AT ALL. So, he parked his butt in this chair next to my sister while I played in the water. Doesn’t his life jacket look so cute!!

My sister and I at this cute little fast food seafood restaurant. Finding things to eat on an island when you’re vegetarian is not super easy, but this place had really good hushpuppies and curly fries. You can’t really tell in this pic, but the patio that we’re on overlooks the water!

Here’s some veggie sushi I got at lunch one day. Our dining experience in South Padre Island wasn’t the best–by the time I got this sushi all of my friends had already finished their meals and were ready to leave. Similar mishaps happened at other restaurants, too. But that’s okay! I had to take it back to the beach house and eat it, but it was still good!

I can’t remember what this restaurant was called but it was so cute. They even gave the dogs little bowls of water without us having to ask! I got Nashville cauliflower (which ended up being too hot for me) and mashed potatoes. The bacon on the side was for Dobby.

On another note, if you look at my sweet tea you might imagine that I drank all of it and that’s why there’s not much left. Nope, I spilled it. I was talking to my sister and the cup literally jumped out of my hand. Only a couple of minutes before that one of my friends had also spilled their drink too lol. It was funny.

Overall, it was a really great trip to Padre Island. The time that we didn’t get to spend at the beach was made up for by eating at plenty of good restaurants and playing lots of Mario Party and Mario Kart. I’m so glad I got to bring my puppy, too! Lots of good times with lots of good friends. 🙂
