Summer Reading List 2018

Since it is finally officially summer, it is time for my summer reading list! I have lots of awesome books that I’m planning on reading this summer, stay tuned to find out what they are. 🙂

I didn’t quite get all of the books on my Spring reading list read, but I did read some! I tend to overestimate how many books I can read within a few months, and I always forget to include the fact that some books on my reading list are only the beginning of a series and they have 3+ books that I also have to read with them. So for this reading list I’m going to try to be a little more realistic.

Books that I’ve read since my Spring reading list:

  1. A Court of Thorns and Roses series (4 books): I didn’t have this series on my spring reading list, but oh my goodness it is so good. One of my favorite book series ever. One billion percent recommend it.
  2. Red Queen Series (4 books): This series was on my spring reading list, so woohoo! The last book just came out on May 15th, but I was still reading the “a court of thorns and roses” series when I got it in the mail, so I just finished this one a week ago. This series is also amazing, but not as good as ACOTAR.
  3. Caraval series (2 books): This one was also on my spring reading list. It is so magical! It is one of those series that you can just get lost in. I actually just finished the second book last night.

One of my spring goals had been to read 10 books, and I did! (Technically I only got 9 because it wasn’t still spring when I finished the last book, but I’m counting it anyways.) I’ve read 15 books so far this year, and I’m so happy about it.

Okay now without further ado, here is my summer reading list!

Shatter me series (The Juliette Chronicles Series)

Includes Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me, and Restore Me

This series has been my favorite since I read it 3 years ago. However, I guess I was a fake fan because I had absolutely NO IDEA that a fourth book was coming out this year. Like, this entire time I had been under the impression that the third book was the last book. When I found out there was a fourth book I immediately ordered it. Now I have to reread the entire series–not that I mind. I’m starting shatter me today and I’m so excited.

Synopsis: “One touch is all it takes. One touch, and Juliette Ferrars can leave a fully grown man gasping for air. One touch, and she can kill.

No one knows why Juliette has such incredible power. It feels like a curse, a burden that one person alone could never bear. But The Reestablishment sees it as a gift, sees her as an opportunity. An opportunity for a deadly weapon.

Juliette has never fought for herself before. But when she’s reunited with the one person who ever cared about her, she finds a strength she never knew she had.”

The Throne of Glass series

Includes Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and Kingdom of Ash

This book series is by the same author as “A Court of Thorns and Roses” so I have very high expectations of it. Can’t wait to dive into another world by Sarah J. Maas.

Synopsis: “In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king’s champion. Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass–and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.”

I think that’s it for my summer reading list! I have some other books in mind to read if I finish all of these books before September 22nd (the official end of summer), but, like I said earlier, I’m trying to be realistic, so I’m not going to put those on the list because I don’t know if I’ll get to them.

If you want to keep up with the books I’m currently reading, follow me on Instagram! I usually post on my story when I start a new book.
