y2k party

There is nothing more fun than a y2k party, especially if you’re a 90s/ 2000s baby like me. It’s super nostalgic and so exciting for everyone.

If you want to throw the best y2k themed party, here are some SUPER cute ideas I found that would be so fun to recreate.

After you read this post, you’ll have some seriously good ideas to help you plan your y2k party.

This post is all about y2k party ideas to try.

1. CD Wall

This is a super cute idea that would be really easy to DIY. I think the best way to secure the CDs to the wall would be either double sided tape or command strips.

2. 2000s Candy Bar

A 2000s themed candy bar is the PERFECT snack table idea for a y2k party. You could either go to the store and pick out different candies yourself, or you could get a pack like this! The pack I linked says its “90s candy,” but it’d work for a 2000s party as well because there’s a lot of overlap.

3. Y2K Sunglasses For People To Wear

Some sparkly sunglasses like this would be such a cute party favor for a y2k party. Everyone could grab a pair as they are walking in! This would be really nice to do just in case someone doesn’t have a lot of clothes that match the theme. Then they’d still be included!

4. Y2K Balloon Backdrop

This would be perfect for taking pictures in front of at the party! In my experience, photo ops are always the most popular part of every party.

5. CD Backdrop

A CD backdrop is another cute y2k backdrop idea! It looks so cute. This would also be great for pictures.

6. Cute Ball Pit For Pictures

This would be such a cute and unique thing to do for pictures! I’ve seen pictures of this setup all over Pinterest– I think it’s from a y2k themed sorority bid day. It’s super clever!

7. “I Don’t Think You’re Ready For This Jelly” Jello Cups

I giggled at this a little when I saw it. If you’re wanting to serve some form of ~special drinks~ at your party, this is such a good idea.

8. Glass Soda Bottles And Magazines

No products found.

The magazine cut out decor gave me flashbacks to my childhood bedroom (especially the picture of Robert Pattinson). This whole setup would be great to recreate for a 2000s party.

9. Balloons With Butterflies

When I first saw this picture I thought the butterflies were attached to balloon strings, but then I realized they’re hung separately. I think they used fishing line to attach them to the ceiling. Any kind of butterfly decor is a safe bet for a y2k party.

10. Mean Girls Utensils

This is another idea that is SO clever. I think they probably just printed a picture from online and then attached it to the utensil container.

11. Snack Table

A snack table like this is another amazing idea if you’re wanting to serve food! I love the boombox and lava lamps they added.

12. Bratz Theme

If you’re wanting a more specific theme than just “y2k theme,” a Bratz theme would be so cute! Everyone would have such a fun time dressing up for a Bratz party.

13. Temporary Tattoo Bar

I LOVE this idea. If I went to a 2000s party and they had this, I would be all over it. This is another cute (and cheap) party favor idea.

14. Hair Tinsel

This has more to do with what to wear than actual party decor, but it would be so cute to do hair tinsel for a y2k party. It would be AMAZING to have a hair tinsel station for guests to do their own.

15. Heart Backdrop

This is another really cute backdrop idea! Also love their outfit.
