I remember when I was dating someone at the beginning of college, and I was super broke and didn’t want to spend any money on dates. So I came up with this list of fun dates to go on that don’t cost a whole lot!
After you read this post you’ll have all the best affordable winter dates ideas.
This post is all about cheap winter date ideas.
The Best Affordable Winter Date Ideas
1. Ice skating
Ice skating is a staple winter date, and it only costs around $7 per person! It can be a great bonding experience to watch your S/O fall on their butt.
2. Snow Tubing
Tubing is so fun! If you don’t know what it is, you basically just sit on a tube and sled down a hill. There are a bunch of places that have artificial snow and make a ramp just for tubing! It’s a perfect winter date idea, and it’s not too pricy.
If you live in a place where you get a lot of snow and you like tubing, it could be worth it to invest in a tube. You can buy your own tube for around the same price it is to rent a tube for a few hours, so if you see yourself doing it more than once that would save you tons of money! This one has great reviews on amazon.

Having a date where you make gifts for your friends together would be so much fun!
4. Look At Christmas Lights
The most cliche Christmas idea. Looking at the lights can be so romantic, and it doesn’t cost too much. You could even stop by a coffee shop and get some seasonal hot chocolates and make it even more special!

Holiday parties can be a perfect holiday date! And they’re FREE. To make it even better you could coordinate outfits.

8. Sledding
If the place where you live gets some snow this could be a really fun date idea!! I live in Oklahoma and we rarely get any snow, but when we do it’s extra special! If you live somewhere where it snows frequently, investing in a sled if you don’t already have one could be a good idea!
9. Make a Gingerbread House
When I was little, my dad had a friend who worked at Starbucks, and I remember one time he took my sister and I there to build gingerbread houses. It’s one of my favorite holiday memories, smelling the coffee in the background while we made our gingerbread houses was such a special experience.
Building them with your boyfriend/ girlfriend would be so much fun, too! All you have to do is get a kit, and you’re good to go.

My ideal winter date idea would be snuggling up with some comfy blankets, some hot chocolate, and watching holiday movies.
