Before I took my grad pics last year, I was obsessed with looking at college graduation photoshoot ideas. I wanted to find the absolute best ideas for my pictures so I could have great pics to remember my time in college forever.

It can be hard to know what to do for graduation photoshoots just off the top of your head, so I’ve gathered some of the cutest ideas for college graduation pictures!!

1. Sit On Some Steps

This photoshoot idea is very ~Beatles-esque~ but I think it turned out really well! This would be great if your campus has a spot like this one where the trees frame the road. The pose she’s doing is also an amazing grad pic idea!

3. Throw Your Cap

A staple college graduation picture idea is to throw your cap in the air. This one is so pretty because the scenery behind her looks so good. If you have a particularly picturesque place on your campus, this would be a really great picture idea to take there!

Glitter grad pics are some of the coolest, most celebratory pictures ever. They can be kind of hard to pull off though (speaking from experience). To recreate this picture, you’ll need some chunky glitter/ confetti like this. Finer glitters are a lot harder to catch on camera, so chunky glitter is really important!

For me, taking pics with my dog for my graduation was a MUST. The picture above is one of my grad pics!! This is what we got for my dog’s cap and bandana. It was a little flimsy but it got the job done! Getting him his own little graduation cap definitely took the pics to the next level and they’re a really good memory. 10/10 recommend.

This is another really great cap throwing idea! It’s still obviously a grad pic because the cap is in it, but I think it’s a really great way to catch your own personality on camera! Plus the dress she’s wearing is so cute. I couldn’t find one exactly like it on amazon, but these two are pretty similar and equally as cute!

8. Take Pics At Your Fav Cafe/ Coffee Shop

This is such a cute way to document your individual college experience. I think all of us probably have somewhere in our college town that we frequented, and this is a great way to capture the memory of all the nights spent at your favorite place.

9. Wear A Jersey

If you’re into sports, this is a super cute picture idea. Most colleges have a little shop where you can go to buy jerseys like this one. Such a cute graduation photoshoot outfit idea if you pair it with some platform boots like she did!

This is one of my fav graduation picture ideas. It just looks so fun and festive! To recreate it just find a fountain on your campus and grab some champagne!

Confetti popper pics are SO cute. If you want to recreate this picture, I recommend grabbing a pack of confetti poppers like this. Odds are it’ll take you a few tries to get the perfect picture, so you wanna make sure you have more than one popper on hand.

This is a great idea for a ~school spirit~ type picture. To recreate this you could get some smoke bombs (I couldn’t find any on amazon) or some color powder in your school colors! If you use a smoke bomb you can just set it somewhere behind you for the picture. If you use some color powder you can have someone throw some behind you!

14. Put Your Cap In Front Of Your Face

This is a very simple but very cute grad picture idea. It’s perfect for people who aren’t a huge fan of posing!

This is a super cute posing idea for grad pics! There are so many different variations of “celebratory” poses you could do, but this one is really cute.
